The Autumn 2025 semester examinations at Allama Iqbal Open University would start from March 2, 2026, based on an official notification issued for the enrolled students. The university has provided some important instructions about examination timings, updating of admit cards and a new question-wise marking policy, which goes into effect from this semester.
Exams to Begin
from March 2, 2026
In its latest announcement, the
university has told students that examination for Autumn 2025 semester will
begin from 02 March 2026. Admit cards/cards containing roll numbers (also known
as Roll number slips) have already been uploaded in CMS portal. The students
are strongly suggested to download the admit cards and read out all the
instructions given carefully before appearing the exam.
University officials laid emphasis
on the students ensuring that all personal details, course codes, and
examination centers are correctly mentioned on their admit cards to any
inconvenience on the day of the examination.

The university
has also made it clear the examination schedule though with consideration to
the holy month of Ramzan.
• During
Ramzan: The exams will be held from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Never before have students had to
take their exams in cold weather.
Before the given date for report
students are asked to arrive at their allotted examination centres well before
the reporting time, to complete the necessary procedures of attendance and
verification.
Admit Card Mandatory updated on
March 1.
In an important advisory, the
University has requested the students to download the updated admit card on 01
March 2026, a day before the examination begins. This step is done to ensure
that any changes or corrections are made last minute are reflected in the
latest version of the roll number slip.
The officials have warned that
students are required to carry a clear and updated printout of the admit card
to the examination center. Failure of presenting the updated document could
cause complications during entry or attendance marking.
Question Wise Marking Started from
this semester
A major change introduced from the
Autumn 2025 semester is the introduction of the question wise marking. Under
this new policy, answer sheets will be evaluated strictly to honest page
allocations for separate questions.

The university
has devised that each question should be dealt with exactly four pages and
students should follow the strict guidelines of page allocation as follows:

As per the instructions, answers
which are written outside the space that is allocated may not be considered for
evaluation. The university has made it clear that examiners would strictly mark

Students are therefore encouraged to
be careful and strategic in the time and content they write within the allotted
page limits so that they do not lose marks.

this regard that even if the student tries to attempt the paper in Urdu or
English, it has to start from Page 3 of the answer sheet.
This instruction is applicable to
all students with all subjects. Any deviation from the page numbering sequence
may cause confusion in marking the process.

The administration reminded that,
according to the official Academic Calendar, Autumn semester examinations are
conducted every year in March, and Spring semester - in September.
Students are encouraged to keep
themselves updated with the academic schedule and keep track of their CMS
portal regularly so as not to miss any important notification.

Monitoring Recommended
The University has instructed to
check at least 10 days prior to the commencement of the examinations by
students their CMS portal. This is to ensure timely download of admit cards and
information about examination centers, course code, and schedules.

seen or available in portal then such students must immediately contact the
