What is YouTube's new feature 'Jewels' and how is it possible to earn?

If you love live streaming on YouTube, the company is offering a new earning opportunity.

According to Google Support, YouTube is introducing a new feature called 'Jewels' for creators that will allow them to monetize vertical live streamers.

Jewels is a digital currency that you can send as a gift to your favorite creators.

This gift will appear on the screen of live streamers in the form of animation.

This feature is similar to Tik Tok's Live Gift feature where users buy coins and send them as gifts.

Creators will receive rubies when viewers send gifts using 'jewels', a statement released by YouTube said.

One ruby will fetch one US cent, meaning 100 rubies will fetch one dollar.

For the next three months, eligible creators will also be able to earn a 50 percent bonus on earnings from these 'jewels'.

Creators will be able to receive this gift only when they do a vertical live stream on YouTube and users will be able to send jewels only on the mobile app.

The feature is currently being rolled out to users in the US but is expected to roll out to other countries in the coming months.

This feature will make it possible for creators who are part of the YouTube Partners program to earn income.
