Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also approved the
enhancement in the cash assistance entitlement under this scheme from Rs.
100,000 to Rs. 200,000.
For the financial year 2025-26, the Punjab Finance Department has
allocated Rs. 1.70 billion to the Dhee Rani program. This has also been
approved by the Project Steering Committee in terms of expansion and financial
provisions.
Nevertheless, vendor payments of Rs. 660 million could not be
incorporated in the budget. The outstanding dues regarding the program media
campaign shall be settled within the fiscal year.
Regarding the advertising campaign, the Finance Department has
issued a notification to conduct it through the Directorate General of Public
Relations (DGPR).
An amount of 50 million rupees is required to brand the Dhee Rani
ceremonies in the 36 districts of Punjab.
Further, Rs. 8 million will be utilized for Bank of Punjab (BOP)
cards for conducting 5,000 marriages in the financial year 2025-26.
The Finance Department has turned down a proposal that sought an
additional Rs. 223 million and has therefore resolved that the project will be
implemented within the budget of Rs. 1.70 billion.
